22nd January 2009 Windsurfing: Kanaha Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Scorchio!!! Sea Temperature: Weather: WtW sunshine :) Max Speed: Distance Covered: The trade winds have arrived. :) I sailed yesterday but the wind was frustratingly marginal for waveboards and not worthy of a diary entry. Today was a different story. 5.2 then 4.5 full power from kick-off right through to close of play. Waves a plenty on the reef in the half mast range in the sets. I scored loads of good rides and even some half decent jumping on the smaller steep reform ramps. Almost cracked out a clean table top without realising it. The only problem was the crowds. There must have been the best part of 50 people on the water at the mid afternoon peak rush-hour period. Up to 5 gloryhunters per wave - yuk. An easy 5 stars on the shinglometer and I have a feeling that there are going to be loads more even better days here. I think that will be my last Kanaha session for a while. Time for a change of scenery. |
